Trial: Blade Barrier InnovA58
COMING SOON (03/07/2025)
Blade–Made is working on realising a trial construction of our Blade Barrier concept: a sound barrier made out of wind turbine blades.
Blade–Made sees sound barriers as one of the most fitting solutions for repurposing high amounts of blades. The blades can be used in full with minimal adjustments. The current design (horizontal) uses around 45 blades per kilometer. The vertical design uses around 200 blades per kilometer.
In order to develop a scalable, widely applicable and certified product, Blade–Made is building a test barrier on the innovation strip from Rijkswaterstaat on the A58 by Oirschot (InnovA58) partnering with the Innovation Quarter by Rijkswaterstaat and Dura Vermeer Infra. The project is financially supported by the province of Noord Brabant.
The structure, stretching 60 meters, will be tested on:
- Manufacturability
- Noise reduction / acoustic performance
- Financial impact
- Sustainability
- Maintenance and safety
